On the left hand side of every page of this website you will find Psalm 10:14, which tells us that because God SEES the misery of the poor and orphaned, He is actively creating a solution for them. Jesus was likewise moved to compassion when he SAW crowds of hurting and helpless people (Matt 9:36). We at the Apparent Project believe that those who want their lives to reflect the love and action of God will also respond to need if they SEE it. Evil, suffering, and exploitation always flourish in the dark. That is why we are not only passionate about people coming to Haiti to help, but also about visual arts and media production that advocates for Haiti's poor by bringing their stories into the light. Our artisan jewelry, journals, and clothing are always packaged with images and stories to help increase the awareness of Haiti's plight. Our videos are crafted to motivate compassionate action. Please redistribute them on your site, blog, or through email to friends and encourage others to contribute to our work!
This is our latest and best promotional video, showing most fully what we're up to these days. This is a great resource for sharing the Apparent Project story at jewelry parties and fundraising events. Feel free to embed it on your website or facebook page!
The popular media did not cover the massive spiritual response of Haiti to the earthquake. While Haiti's more well known for Voodoo, it was the Christians who really showed up in numbers after the earthquake. Worship filled the streets, rang out from hilltops, and flooded the streets in parades, prayer meetings, and public exorcisms. This was a group that was so large, Corrigan Clay couldn't drive his car in the street for 20 minutes until they passed by!
This is a short promotional video we made a few months before the earthquake in order to show people what we were doing here in Haiti to help the poor and to try to counteract the orphan and child relinquishment crisis. It gives a little glimpse into our daily life, our programs, and some of the needs of Haiti. Feel free to share it!
A note to MCYM staff
This golden oldy dates back to the seedling years of the Apparent Project when the Clays lived in an orphanage and were just dreaming of how to keep families together through developing job creation programs. This is a message they sent to friends doing ministry in Europe.
Occasionally other organizations impress us so much that we offer our video services to them, free of charge. If you'd like to see some of the videos we have made for friends of the Apparent Project, click here.
We are currently in the planning phases for an updated promotional video and a documentary about the orphan crisis in Haiti. We would like to uprade to HD cameras for these larger projects. Anybody know of any pro-sumer HD cameras available for nonprofit charity organizations?
