Big Dreams

When we dream, we dream BIG! Here are some of our dreams that are in the works:

A team of seamstresses is coming in January 2011 to teach sewing courses that will include making cloth diapers as well as a few other functional products. We are also looking into developing a quilters guild here in Port Au Prince.

We dream of a computer literacy school to piggyback off of our other educational projects. For this we need at least 10 basic laptop computers, some typing software, Microsoft Office, & training programs (such as "Professor Teaches"). We also would need either the funding to hire a teacher OR to have teams of people come down at regular intervals to teach these skills. If Haitian street kids can gain solid computer skills, their hire-ability as they approach adulthood will increase dramatically. They could even begin sell their own crafts online, reducing their dependency on us. We would be giving them the tools to break the cycle of poverty in their young lives and giving them a hope for their future! Let’s make it happen!!
