Supply Needs

The following items are things that we regularly need in order to keep helping Haitian families to be employed, healthy, educated, and emotionally and spiritually nurtured. The less the cost to our program and to our artisans, the more they can be freed from the cycle of poverty. Please consider contributing these items. Perhaps the easiest way to donate supplies is to order them from our Amazon.com wish list. If you purchase items offline you can email us for shipping information, or consider bringing the items in person so that you can make your gift personal. Thanks so much!

Educational Projects

Learning materials for the development of all kinds of creative/artisan skills are helpful. Teaching guides should be visually intensive because of language barriers, but anything in English can be translated for artisans by bilingual staff as well.

Feeding

We are always looking for ways to make feeding 75-100 people daily cheaper and simultaneously more nutritious! If you have contacts to an aid organization that donates food, we would be grateful for your help in networking us. Currently we purchase everything that we use in our feeding program. We need rice, beans, cornmeal, pasta, oil, tomato paste, garlic, onions, cornflakes, powdered milk, coffee, flour, and salt on a regular basis. If you donate financially towards these things, we can also bolster Haitian businesses by making a local purchase.

Medical

We need all manner of children’s medications, Tylenol, pedialyte, infant cereal and formula, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, anti-inflammatories, antibiotic ointment, band-aids, children’s vitamins, adult vitamins, heartburn relief, antibiotics, cortisone cream, wraps, anti-fungals of any kind, anti-diarrhea medicine, tums, and anything else that you would use as over the counter medicine.

Other Materials
Perhaps you have other items that you think we may be able to use. In the past we have received wonderful and useful items such as Creole Bibles, wedding dresses, furniture, appliances, and sports equipment for our teens. If you have a unique idea for a contribution that might bless our Haitian friends, we would love to hear it! Email us and let us know what you have in mind. Thanks!

Recycling Options
for Haitian Residents

If you live in Haiti, you know how much we need to get the trash off of our streets and out of polluting fires and burn barrels. Our beadmakers and journal makers use recycled materials. Please consider donating the following CLEAN recycled items in order to move towards a greener Haiti and to help employ Apparent Project Artisans:

Thin colored cardboard:
Cereal Boxes (no liner bags please)
Pop & Soda boxes
(24 or 36 can cases)

Cracker & Cookie boxes
File Folders

Note: These must be at least 8 inches long in order to make a bead. In other words, no small medicine boxes, individual or "kid-sized" cereal boxes, etc.

Paper:
Magazines
Scrapbooking paper
Undamaged wrapping paper
