its beauty as you are shocked by its poverty. Once called the "Pearl of the Carribean", Haiti still has some of the most breathtaking mountainous terrain, stunning beaches, and majestic waterfalls in the world. The most beautiful gifts that Haiti brings, however, are its people. These are the precious ones who we want to help. As we see their beauty, they help us surrmount our own silly fears of not having enough, not being important enough, or not being beautiful enough. In the face of every Haitian is an image
of survival, worth, and beauty. In the eyes of the poor you can truly encounter Jesus.
