How to contribute to the Apparent Project
There many ways that you can help the people of Haiti! Your gifts, skills, education, resources, and time can all be of great service. Please, choose something that you can do to help.
Financial support
Because of the generous donations of people like you, the Apparent Project is able to provide poor families in Haiti with the sense of purpose that comes from developing a skill, the provision that comes from work, and the hope that comes from life-giving relationships. Regular monthly donations help us make appropriate budgetary decisions and give us a degree of stability that is otherwise difficult to achieve. We strongly urge you, if you are considering making a donation to Apparent, please make it a regular monthly donation through PayPal by clicking on one of the ammounts seen here:
One-time gifts are helpful in addressing less regular needs such as set-up costs, emergency medical bills, or relief provisions for natural disasters or times of political unrest. Currently we are raising one-time funds for earthquake reconstruction & sustainable work space through the development of an artisans' village. All donations are tax-deductible.To give a one time gift online via PayPal, please click here:

Direct Support Of Haitian People
The very best way to bring financial reosources and dignity to the poor is through paying them an affirming and fair wage for skillful work well done. To directly support the family of an Apparent Project artisan, please consider hosting a jewelry party at your home, workplace, church, or community center. You may also choose to sponsor an artisan on a regular basis to help pay for their family's emergency medical needs by following the directions on our artisan sponsorship page here.
Material Needs
The Apparent Project maintains an up-to-date list of tangible needs for the artisans' workshop, our medical supply room, and the guest house. Most of these items can be mailed, or visitors can bring these things in their luggage. Please contact us before mailing items so that we can tell you how to help us avoid problems with customs and shipping fees. See the current needs list here.
Visit Us
When short term teams, adoptive families, and individual guests visit Apparent, involvement becomes relational and partnership is built upon experience. Because making Haiti's needs apparent to others is such a focal part of our mission, hospitality is a priority for us. We do, however, strive to make sure that teams are not undercutting local economies or serving in ways that create unhealthy dependencies or cross-culturally paternal relationships. For this reason, visiting teams must complete our application process. If you would like us to help you plan a service project visit, please contact us.
Prayer
We know that the things that we need, and the things that the Haitian people we serve need will only fully be provided as God's love is given full reign in our hearts, minds, actions, and relationships. Pray that we would continue to seek first the Kindom of God. Pray that the Kingdom where love, truth, grace, beauty, and life always rule will come to Haiti as it is in Heaven. If you would like to pray regularly for more specific needs, please consider following us on Twitter or Facebook where updates about artisans, staff, and programs are given more frequently.
Communication
Perhaps the most simple way of contributing to the Apparent Project is by taking the time to offer us a word of encouragement, insight, or prayer. These emails and letters are a breath of fresh air to our staff. (No forwards please!)
